This wedding was so pretty, as was the bride :) It was a gorgeous fall day for their big day and I enjoyed being a part of it. We started off at the bride's house to photograph her hair and makeup getting done. Then on to the church for the ceremony and reception which were gorgeously decorated by Sisters Formals. And then we got to sneak outside for some pictures of the bride and groom (always my favorite part of the day). We had a wonderful session at the beautiful Pine Mountain Settlement School with Haley and Chuck this weekend. They were such a sweet couple and endured lots of large spiders and tall grass for their session. Loved working with them!

So, you get THE dress, you wear it one day to the prom and have pictures like this

These two were absolutely adorable on their wedding day. They looked great and you could tell they are very much in love.

The one shot the bride requested was that I make sure to get the groom's face when he first saw her. I made extra sure to get that shot, and it was fabulous! That is a tear you see running down with that big smile. And then when she saw all that emotion from him, she couldn't hold hers back. So so sweet.

And the wedding party was too fun!

The reception was gorgeous as well. Beautifully decorated!

I am terribly behind on blogging, but I'm going to jump ahead a little to this sneak peek for this lovely couple. Their wedding was just beautiful and I so enjoyed spending the day with Leann.
We started at the hair salon early Saturday morning where the girls got all beautified. You may be jealous that I got to photograph such a beautiful bride ;)

And then we got to the church, and the real fun began. Loved the ceremony, so sweet.

The reception was just as beautiful.

Then, the rain finally stopped and I got to get the bride and groom outside for a little bit. Woo hoo!!

Yes, it's already that time! I have been photographing my 2012 senior reps in the last couple of weeks. This year's going to be great! I've got a great group of seniors this year and I'm excited to work with them!

First up, Braxton from HCHS. He plays baseball and was a pleasure at his rep session.

Next is HCHS rep Leah. She plays softball and watches ANTM ;)

HHS' own Taylor who is just fabulous! She is in band with my high school band director;)

Last but certainly not least is BCHS rep Adam. He is a faithful member of my very own youth group class at Blackstar Pentecostal Church ;)

Pregnancy is such a special time in a woman's life. I love to be able to capture that time. It is so beautiful to be able to carry a child within your body, and I believe that you should capture that time. It is a memory you want to have.
It's so much more special to photograph someone you've known for many years. To be chosen to capture that time. I was privileged to shoot these two who are waiting for their precious girl. I can't wait to meet Miss Tia.

This wedding was absolutely gorgeous! It had a beautiful winter theme decorated by Silk Designs and they did a fabulous job! And the fact that it was snowing outside just added to the theme. It was also an incredibly sweet ceremony. I could really appreciate that since I've know the groom since elementary school :) It was so awesome to see them so happy together. Love love!

I believe that as a photographer, one needs to have projects or images that they create just for themselves. Just for the sake of creativity. Just because. That brings me to my new project, each week I plan to photograph the hands of different people doing different things.

I love images of hands. Hands hold so much. From the tender touch between a mother and child to the rugged hardworking hands of a mechanic, there are so many things hands do.
I can remember my mamaw's hands probably more clearly than her face. I found myself looking at her hands so much as she would be cooking or fidgeting with something as she often did.

These first images were the inspiration for this project. These were actually created for a client, but they sparked some creativity for me. So, this is week one of These Hands.

I photographed this special little man over the weekend. He was so sweet and is such an incredible blessing to his proud parents :) He wasn't so interested in sleeping for us, but after some perserverence he gave up for a couple minutes.

We had Ben's session this weekend in the studio and at Martins Fork Lake. It was great and he was great to work with. I'm sure he thinks I'm a little spastic, but he's probably right ;) He also brought his girlfriend along, so of course we had to get her in a few too.

Megan had her full senior session this weekend. She is one of the HCHS Senior Reps, and has been a great one so far :) We had a great time at her session with lots of wardrobe changes. I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of two people so very much in love. It was so sweet and one of the most emotional vow exchanges I've witnessed. Such a beautiful ceremony for two truly beautiful people.

It's been a couple months since I posted pictures of Miss Makenna, and we took a few today I thought I'd share.
She's now smiling and cooing so cutely. She is the sweetest thing. Her big sister is totally in love with her. She loves to make her smile.

We tried for an outside session today because I'm dying to get some images out of doors, but it didn't work. And I was determined to get some anyway ;)

In case you've wondered where I've been, you'll see here :) I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of two very special people. I have known Beverly since junior high school where we were instant friends. She is such a special person, and it is so wonderful that she has found someone equally as special to spend her life with. They are so obviously in love, and I adore seeing them so happy.
They had a beach front wedding in Destin. It was a beautiful sunset, just perfect for their special day.

Miss Makenna {7 days old}

Just wanted to share a few more pictures of my new bundle of joy :) She is doing great and we're enjoying being at home with big sister. Miss J loves her little sister so much and said to me "mommy, I'm so glad baby sister is not in your belly anymore". How sweet is that? While we're quite tired caring for both of them, it's so worth it.

I've had so many emails and phone calls for this post ;) Thanks so much to all my wonderful clients, family, and friends for your kind words. I just wanted to post a bit of her story and a few pictures (since everyone's been asking for those especially).

We went for our weekly appointment Monday and an ultrasound for biophysical profile. Through the ultrasound, we found out that the amniotic fluid was extremely low and the doctor made the decision that induction was necessary. I started on pitocin Monday with little progress. The doctor decided to stop the drip and wait until the next morning to give me time to progress a bit more and rest. Started the drip back at 6am Tuesday morning with much more success, and Miss Makenna was born at 1:23pm. She is beautiful in my opinion with a ton of red hair.
We just got to come home today, and I just wanted to share a few pictures from the hospital. Many more to come when we're rested and settled at home. Jaylyn is loving her new role as big sister and is so proud of her baby Makenna. Thanks again for all the prayers and congrats everyone!
